Some Helpful And Convenient Coupon Shopping Tips

By Jim Brown

If you have experience coupon shopping already, you can truly admit that it is quite fun. Now you would not have shopping any other way. Shopping without coupons seems different somehow. You may have learned a few personal tricks and techniques of your own during the process. There are a whole lot of opportunities and possibilities when shopping with coupons. Here are a couple more tips and tricks that you might want to add when shopping with coupons.

Organize and keep track of your coupons. So you have your coupons, you place them in a box somewhere, and every time you go shopping you have to search and rummage around for the coupon you need. In order for you to avoid this, you should find a way or a system rather, to keep your coupons organized and in order. You can do this by categorizing them into different aspects like expiration dates, brands, stores, or whatever way you want to organize them. This will save you time and give you more coupon shopping convenience.

If you have extra time on your hands, you can make a list of the coupons you have and make a monitoring sheet. Let’’s face it, different products have different coupons; and at the same time, different stores honor only different kinds of coupons as well. By tracking them, you will be able to note the price variances and use the coupons that offer the best deal.

Check the per unit price. Coupons are usually offered for a wide assortment of products. You can actually compute how much money you”re saving by determining a products value. You may be surprised to discover that in some cases, you can get more savings by getting the smaller package. This occurs when that coupon that you possess offers the same price markdown for both big and smaller product packages. Consider 5 bars of soap for $5 and 10 bars at $10 with a coupon of $1 off. With the 5 bars you get a price of $.80 a piece, and with 10 you get $.90 for each bar of soap.

There is a difference of ten cents depending on what package you”re going to take. This may seem like a small difference. But nevertheless, if you multiply this figure, you would still come up with considerable savings. That measly ten cents might just turn out to be a hundred dollars or more.

Learn how to barter and trade. The coupons that you have today might not be of much use for you. Simply put, if you get a coupon on dog food but do not really have a dog as a pet, there is no use for you to use that coupon and waste your money on dog food that you do not need. It would prove to be quite useless as well unless you”re planning on getting a dog sometime soon. If you don”t, this would only take up space and add to more clutter in your collection of coupons. So what do you do with your extra coupons? You trade them. You give someone the coupon in exchange for a coupon that you need. The old adage is true, “One’’s garbage may be another person’’s treasure.” Win-win!
