Necklace
This is a gray area. You could buy a necklace for a co-worker but it does mean intimacy if you do. For a spouse or girlfriend, it is a good gift as it shows a degree of thought and necklaces are usually expensive. There are several options with necklaces, including getting a locket with pictures of the two of you in it.

All of these choices will work for a girlfriend or spouse, but getting them a ring or necklace is the best bet. With a co-worker, you should go no further than earrings, doing so will send the wrong message and it could get you in a lot of trouble.
