Being a mom can be a hard job with not a lot of thanks from your child. But we all know that the holidays give us the opportunity to find mom Xmas presents that show how much she means to us. Yet how do we find a gift that tells her how we feel and will make her smile?

If you have become a parent then you know that the work never ends and you see your mom in a whole new light. Of course, the gifts from your kids will be something that any grandmother treasures. But what about giving a gift directly from you?

We all have the boxes in our attic or storage places that have our special art projects and mementos of days gone past. Why not put together a photo album of your life and the things that you remember about your mom. Include special memories of her in your life growing up. And in the end write a thank you letter to tell her how she helped you become the grown up you are.

Or another wonderful gift is to take old pictures and have them put onto a CD. Add some of her favorite music and she has a walk down memory lane from her computer. Of course make it easy to work with since most mothers are not the computer hackers we are.

Presents are nice when you buy them but making something always shows the time and care you want to put into the gift. If you know how to knit, work with wood, or any other skill then put that to good use and create something that you know she would love from your own two hands.

The real gift that your mom wants is the gift of time. After all the years you were laying on her couch and eating with the refrigerator door open, she misses you. So a gift of a day spent with her alone doing something she loves to do would be greatly appreciated. Add in a lunch or dinner at her favorite establishment and you have not just given a gift but a memory.
