Discover Your Adventurous Side And Get The Clothes To Match
By Ryan Gills
The New Year is here, so is it time for a new you? While that might sound like an awful cliche, it really is the best time to make that New Year’’s resolution and choose to enjoy the best the UK’’s countryside has to offer.
Many people talk about losing weight after indulging in one too many meals during Christmas, but you don”t need to spend your hard-earned cash on joining a gym to get fit. One of the best ways is to take up a new activity. Something as simple as going for a walk on the beach on a regular basis can help improve your fitness level and be a massive benefit to your health. Or perhaps consider something you have never tried before such as sailing, climbing, skiing or hiking or kayaking.
Of course some outdoor activities are easier to get into than others. If you”re really in an adventurous mood and want to take up something like rock climbing then the best way is to start off with a taster session at your local climbing wall where an instructor can make sure your first experience is a pleasant one and most importantly, a safe one.
If you”d be happier keeping both feet on the ground however, that’’s fine too, as there are plenty of other activities which can prove just as rewarding. Take up cycling, start jogging, visit your local swimming pool or perhaps join a walking club.
After deciding what outdoor activity suits you best, make sure you”ve got the right kind of clothing to make the best of the indoors or even outdoors. There are plenty of questions you”ll need to ask and it’’s important to choose items of clothing that are functional and will fit in with the type of activity you”re involved in. Will it be waterproof if I”m standing on the summit of Snowdon and the heavens open? Will it be warm enough if I”ve just leapt out of the sea in Cornwall after an hour’’s surfing? Will it be light enough to carry comfortably if I”m halfway around Lake Windermere and the sun comes out?
On top of such practical considerations though, you”ll also want to make sure you choose clothing that’’s fun and comfortable and that says something about you as a person. There are lots of online retailers that specialise in outdoor clothing where you”ll be able to pick up bargains in the sales such as cool hoodies or a sweat top that is ideal for layering perfect for those winter adventures.
